With due consideration, we here at Lauren.5 Literary Agency have decided to accept your novel for represention through our company. We have read through the manuscript and feel that it is a breath of fresh literary air.
Our lawyers here at L5LA inc. have informed me that I am required to share with you our company's current financial standing (we filed for bankruptsy last month). Despite our financial difficulties, we are still excited to undertake your project.
We had planned to type a long and wordy response to your original letter, but have found the hour far too late to continue past three measley paragraphs. Please feel free to contact us with any further inquiries.

- In case you couldn't guess, our names are Lauren and Lauren, sometimes known as Scribe and Scribbie. This video blog began when Lauren.0 (Scribe) decided to move to Japan to teach English. Deciding we couldn't stand not seeing each other for so long, the two of us decided to post our thoughts and experiences in a video blog. Lauren.0 and Lauren.5 have known each other for a decade. They live in Ohmiya, Japan and North Carolina, USA, respectively.

OMG! That's awesome that you got accepted sweetie! Are you going to accept? They HAVE filed for bankruptcy...might want to check them out pretty thoroughly if you haven't yet. It would be a serious shame if your novel got accepted and then shelved due to lack of funds. Good luck, be careful, and I am going to try to call you sometime this weekend.... on Skype of course.

I want this to be a good thing for you but if they accept a manuscript that they think they might be able to convince *someone else* is publishable, they've increased their asset value as your manuscript will be liquidated as an a piece of property in order to pay off outstanding debt. If that's the case and if that's what they're doing, they may be trying to get someone to buy enough of the company to break even and close. In that case, you'll find your manuscript in a sort of legal limbo where it may not be published (for years, if at all) and you can't break it free. Please be careful
...guys...it's a joke. The agent is Scribbie! I sent her a joke query letter and she sent me an acceptance letter. XD

Wow.... Don't I feel silly now! Hey, it was convincing though! At least to someone who doesn't know what the real thing is supposed to look like....
But I still have high hopes for the acceptance of your novel. By people who are NOT going bankrupt. *G*
